At Carmelo in Lyon, our team is dedicated to providing you a delightful Italian experience. In our restaurant, enjoy traditional Neapolitan pizza, pasta, and tiramisu.

We’ve preserved the spirit of Lyon’s traditional bouchons: conviviality, cool and good vibes, and on top of it generous cuisine. We’ve taken the best of these qualities to let you taste our fresh pizzas and pasta. Lyon, the city of lights, welcomed us with open arms, and we settled on Rue Neuve – a 13th-century town in the center, where we feel right at home.

Let’s talk about our bottega’s gastronomy. Of course, pizzas and kids come first. Our pizza chef brought his amazing Neapolitan oven and gathered his friends to craft everything from Regina to Margherita. We start with delightful primi piatti like veal meatballs, crispy parmigiana, and delicious gnocchi. Don’t hesitate to ask our squadra for their recommendations—they know their plates and have their own favorites.

Yes, both the team in the dining room and the brigade in the kitchen are all ears. They might growl if you ask for parmesan on fish, but they’ll be delighted to show you their technique for enjoying spaghetti.

Carmelo's squadra offers some of its tables for reservation, both at noon and in the evening. For the rest, come as you are and whenever you're available—we always try to find you a spot.

Why don’t you take reservations ?



We use amazing products that come directly from amazing producers located in Italy. We only serve fresh, 100% made-in-house food. And in order to stay in the spirit of the authentic Italian trattorias we love so much, we offer a menu that’s as affordable as possible. The reality is that latecomers and cancelled reservations represent an enormous cost for restaurants. In order to be able to offer quality products at affordable prices, we have to ensure that all our seats are filled. Either we accommodate a lot of people, or we make a lot of profit.

Plus, there’s advantages to not having to reserve 2 months in advance just to eat a pizza ! To put it simply : we understand that not taking reservations can be inconvenient for our diners, but we have to weigh this consideration against the fact that we’re trying to offer high value-for-money by squeezing our margins. To make things just a little bit easier, we’ve put in place a wait-list system whereby our hostess take your name and telephone number and call you when your table is ready.
