Do you take reservations?

Unfortunately we don’t take reservations at Big Mamma. Everything goes through the list held by our lovely  hostess at the front door. At East Mamma, Ober Mamma and Mamma Primi, we recommend you come about 20 minutes before opening in order to minimize your wait time. At the restaurant, the hostess will seat you for the first service or put you on the waiting list for a table a bit later. Biglove Caffè is open from 9 am to 4.30 pm and from 7 pm to 11 pm, so come anytime ! Our awesome managers will get you seated right away if there’s a table available, or will put you on the waiting list for a table a little bit later.

What are the restaurants’ opening hours?

Restaurant hours are available on each restaurant page. In order to minimize your waiting time as much as possible, we recommend you come 20 minutes before the restaurant opens. Our hostess will then find you a seat for the very first service or, failing that, add you to the waiting list for a table a little later. At Popolare and La Felicità, come and see us anytime!

Why don’t you take reservations ?

We use amazing products that come directly from amazing producers located in Italy. We only serve fresh, 100% made-in-house food. And in order to stay in the spirit of the authentic Italian trattorias we love so much, we offer a menu that’s as affordable as possible. The reality is that latecomers and cancelled reservations represent an enormous cost for restaurants. In order to be able to offer quality products at affordable prices, we have to ensure that all our seats are filled. Either we accommodate a lot of people, or we make a lot of profit. Plus, there’s advantages to not having to reserve 2 months in advance just to eat a pizza ! To put it simply : we understand that not taking reservations can be inconvenient for our diners, but we have to weigh this consideration against the fact that we’re trying to offer high value-for-money by squeezing our margins. To make things just a little bit easier, we’ve put in place a wait-list system whereby our hostess take your name and telephone number and call you when your table is ready.

I would like to celebrate my birthday with a small group of friends at one of your trattorias… Is this possible?

We’ve got a few big tables at our restaurants and so it’s totally possible to come with a group ! Our biggest table (at Ober Mamma) can fit 14 people. At Mamma Primi, we can accommodate eight at one table, at Pizzeria Popolare, 12 and at East Mamma and Biglove Caffè our biggest tables seat 10. We recommend aiming to arrive for the first services at 12h15 and 19h and to arrive with lots of time to spare (at least 30 minutes before opening) in order to maximise your chances of getting your table of choice. You only need one person from your party to get there early and stand in line—the others can join at their leisure. The only caveat : everyone has to be there before the doors open, as we only seat tables once everyone is present.

I would like to organise a big company dinner. Do you do buy-outs?

We would love to be able to host you for your events, but unfortunately we don’t do buy-outs or organise big group dinners. Since we don’t take reservations, it’s more difficult for big groups to make sure a table that can accommodate everyone will be free. However, if your group includes less than 14 people and you’d like more information on how to get a table, your best bet is to read the previous question 😉

Do you do takeaway ?

Nope, no takeaway at Big Mamma. However, if you’re unable to finish your pizza on-site, we do provide doggy bags !
